February 2007
Beginning in 2007, daylight saving time (DST) will be extended in the United States and Canada. DST will start three weeks earlier on March 11, 2007, and end one week later on November 4, 2007. This results in a new DST period that is four weeks longer than previously observed. Unless certain updates are applied to your computer, it is possible that the time zone settings for your computer's system clock may be incorrect during this four week period. For more information about DST and how to prepare, click here.
The current ramp up to the new Vista operating system hasn’t produced the anticipated migration from Windows XP or earlier systems. This due in part to the slow response by industry to providing the necessary device drivers required for many of the higher end media centric PC’s. Currently it may take up to six months for some of these drivers to appear. The minimum requirement to get a good response to what Vista offers, you will need a high end video graphics card and at least one gigabyte (GB) of Random Access Memory (RAM). Vista though will run on less than the above requirement but you will get only Vista components that will run on your current configuration. Remember before you take the step to migrate to Vista, run the Vista Upgrade Advisor. It will give you details about your current computer and its compatibility with Vista.
